Project LEISA (Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture): A step towards climate resilent farming
Objectives:
To promote sustainable agricultural practices through the adoption of Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA) techniques in West Bengal, empowering farmers to increase productivity, reduce dependency on chemical inputs, and improve environmental and economic resilience.
Impact Target:
- Improved Food Security: Empowering farmers with knowledge and tools to practice environmentally sustainable agriculture, minimizing the use of chemical inputs, and enhancing soil health.
- Economic Empowerment of Farmers: Improving farm productivity through cost-effective and eco-friendly farming practices, leading to better income and financial stability for small and marginal farmers.
- Enhanced Agricultural Biodiversity: Promoting crop diversification and agroecological practices to enhance biodiversity and resilience against climate change.
